Experimental Study on Direct Harvesting of Corn Kernels

The mechanical harvesting of corn has always been a problem for the development industry. In present investigation, tangential flow–transverse axial flow threshing test system was designed based on 4YL-4/5 harvester. structure design modular, and drum other key parts could be changed, or technical parameters adjusted according to needs. Thus, becomes suitable carry out various grains. this paper, two kinds systems, cylindrical plate-tooth mixed row full drum, were designed. Using same materials conditions, comparative experiment grain harvest carried explore mechanical–technical conditions methods reduce breakage rate corn’s direct harvest.The results showed that ability adaptability cylinder with arrangement higher than those structure. It also found moisture content (above 28%) maize ear, met national standard. On hand, can support wider range contents peripheral velocities drum. Within all tested velocities, minimum tooth 3.7%, 1.5%, which means reduction 59.5% achieved.
